Tea for two for violin and piano
Duration: 8'30
Out of the inexhaustible source of traditional heritage, the composition « Tea for Two » draws the technique of paraphrasing based on variations, which was typical of music salons of the late Romantic period, where the violin-piano combination was particularly popular. The main theme of the piece, an evergreen tune from the Hollywood film of the same title, is brought into various new neo-tonal and polyrhythmical contexts through different variations; the piece consists of a series of colored circles of association imbued with gentle humor.
