When generating ideas for this piece, I was very much aware of the fact that the literature for French horn is scarce. So I have decided to compose a concerto that will put in focus the possibilities of the instrument, consciously putting the exploration of new musical language aside This should not been taken literally since these assertions don`t necessarily exclude one another, but on the contrary. After accepting such starting position, musical ideas came spontaneously: from the interval of fourth and fifth with a rhythmical shape of a signal, one of the ancient elements of french horn. On the other hand I wanted to objectify the favorite instrument of the romantic expression having inconsciously on my mind the cool jazz and similar proceedings. I had a solid idea of making the french horn and the orchestra have equal importance and intensity in the formation of the musical organism.
